Tova's Cinnamon Twists

My daughter-in-law never arrives empty-handed when she visits. These cinnamon twists are so satisfying, and perfect with a cup of coffee.

INGREDIENTS: 

Cookies:

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons orange juice

Topping:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 375° F
  2. Line a few cookie sheets with parchment paper
  3. Mix together eggs, oil and sugar
  4. Add the rest of the cookie ingredients and mix to combine well
  5. Roll out one tablespoon of dough at a time, and form each into a rope
  6. Roll each rope in the topping mixture
  7. Fold and twist each rope
  8. Place twists about 1 inch apart on prepared cookie sheets
  9. Bake for 12 - 14 minutes

Makes about 3 dozen
